Happy Hour Salon: Latino Civil Rights

Valerie Mendoza (Avila University), Ediberto Gonzalez (Justicia Inc.) and Alejandra Hernandez-Castro (KU’s TRIO Support Education Services) lead a vibrant conversation about migrant worker rights, immigration, cultural representation, and other current issues facing Latinos in America. So, pull a seat up to the table and hear stories, share ideas and enjoy fine snacks provided by Five Bar & Tables while getting primed for the evening's documentary screening of Dolores about activist Dolores Huerta.

Representatives from the KU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Centro Hispano will be on hand to provide additional resources about additional programs and events.

A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. The words and light food are free but drinks are on you!
